Date & Time
The HOBC Badminton Tournament will take place on Sunday, 30th November 2025, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The day will begin with group stage matches in the morning, followed by knockout rounds in the afternoon. The finals are scheduled to start around 5:30 PM, closing the tournament with an exciting finish.
Please arrive early for registration and warm-up. Match schedules will be shared in advance.
Players must declare their rating based on the official listings from Badminton England or BBFUK.

Venue
The tournament will take place at Luton Sports Village (formerly Inspire), a premier sports facility located on Butterfield Green Road, LU2 8DD. This modern venue features a spacious, well-lit sports hall with high ceilings and professional equipment—perfect for badminton tournaments

- 8 badminton courts: Four in the main sports hall and four in the adjacent indoor tennis hall – ideal for both singles and doubles matches

Categories
Competitors can participate in the following categories:
- Men’s Doubles (Two separate categories):
- D+ & D or D & D (4 courts allocated)
- D- & D- (4 courts allocated)
All matches will be organised in line with the standards set by Badminton England, the Independent Badminton Federation, and Club-level guidelines to ensure fair and competitive gameplay across all categories.
Rules and Regulations
All matches will follow official badminton competition rules as governed by Badminton England, and recognised by the Independent Badminton Federation and BBFUK listing. Key guidelines include:
A full rulebook and detailed tournament schedule will be shared with all registered participants ahead of the event.
- Shuttlecock and court specifications must comply with official regulations
- Quarterfinals and semifinals will follow a best-of-3 games format (to 21 points, rally scoring)
- The final will be played using the traditional championship format
- Last day of enrollment is 48 hours before the tournament date
- Players must arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled match
- All players must disclose their ranking (as per Badminton England, BBFUK listing during registration
- Players must upload a photo of themselves and their doubles partner at the time of registration
- Late arrivals may result in forfeiture of the match
- Referees’ decisions are final and non-negotiable
